Outgoing coach of the Indian women’s cricket team, WV Raman congratulated Ramesh Powar for appointing him as the next head coach and hoped that the team would be able to reach new heights under the direction of Powar.

WV Raman, the outgoing coach of the national women’s cricket team, congratulated Ramesh Powar on the appointment of the new coach on Thursday. “All the best @imrameshpower in this spell for @BCCIWomen. Wait for the girls to rise under your leadership, “Raman tweeted. In June/July of this year, Powar’s first assignment as coach will be like the women’s team leads the United Kingdom to play a test, three T20I, and three ODIs. On 13 April, the BCCI invited for two years the position of head coach of the Indian women’s team.

WV Raman was named head coach of the Indian Women’s Team in December 2018.

Under his watch, India was able to reach the T20 World Cup finals in 2020. The Harmanpreet Kaur-led side eventually lost the Australia summit confrontation.

Raman took over the coach from Powar. The BCCI named Powar as head coach of the Indian women’s team in August 2018.

After the retirement of former coach Tushar Arothe, Powar had been asked to lead the team and was given full-time duties until 30 November 2018.

The BCCI had announced the post and received more than 35 requests.

The Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC), which includes Sulakshana Naik, Madan Lal, and Rudra Pratap Singh, interviewed the applicants and agreed to Powar’s application unanimously under the BCCI release.

Powar played 2 trials and 31 ODIs for India, a former international.

He is an ECB-Level 2 accredited coach and has also completed BCCI-NCA Level 2 coaching courses during his career.
