In a BBL match, Unmukt Chand showed off his skills with some incredible power hitting.

Unmukt scored 29 runs off 22 balls, including a four, two sixes, and a single.

With his playing at the MCG, Chand said he had fulfilled a long-held desire.

Unmukt Chand, the former captain of India’s U19 cricket team, displayed his power-hitting prowess in his second BBL appearance for Melbourne Renegades.

The former India U19 captain Unmukt Chand made a splash in Australia’s Big Bash League (BBL) during his second outing for the Melbourne Renegades, announcing his arrival with superb power hitting. Chand, who had disappointed in his BBL debut with a six-run knock, redeemed himself with a 29-run knock of 22 balls that contained one four and two sixes. A magnificent pull shot behind the wicket for six by Chand set the tone for a successful partnership with captain Aaron Finch, who scored 82 runs from 64 balls. An appreciative Chand described playing at the storied Melbourne Cricket Ground as a “dream come true” (MCG). Chand posted the following on his Twitter account:

“It’s been an absolute honor to perform at the @MCG. The G. was filled with a childish vitality. It wasn’t quite what we hoped for, but it was still a successful outing. It is my hope that I can take away a lot of positives from this experience and use them in my future endeavors. Good to be back on the big stage again. @BBL and @RenegadesBBL on Twitter.”

In the end, Renegades fell one run short of the 170-run objective against Sydney Thunder despite the superb hitting of Finch and Chand.

Chander Sandhu took three wickets while Tanveer Sangha also bowled well to take two.

When Thunder batted first, they were able to achieve a respectable total because of the brilliance of openers Usman Khawaja and Alex Hales.

Renegades’ best bowler, Cameron Boyce, took five wickets in a superb performance.
