Weird meme from Wasim Jaffer after Ravichandran Ashwin scored a half-century for Rajasthan Royals at No. 3 in the IPL 2022.
Wasim Jaffer’s ability to turn any scenario into a meme, or at the very least identify the ideal meme for each situation, has amazed his fans after his retirement from cricket. Rajasthan Royals batsman Ravichandran Ashwin, who has been frequently deployed at the top of the order this season, hit his first IPL 2022 half-century on Wednesday against Delhi Capitals. After being put in to bat, the Royals scored 160/6 in their 20 overs thanks to Ashwin’s 38-ball 50, which included four boundaries and two sixes. It wasn’t enough, though, as DC went on to win by eight wickets.
According to Jaffer, RR is using Ashwin to his most significant potential, despite the unorthodox nature of the move.
Ashwin, when asked about his new position, said: “As of the start of the season, I was clearly informed that my role would be as a batter in the middle of the order. A few practice games were played where I also started.”
Mitchell Marsh ultimately fired Ashwin when he reached the half-century mark.
Padikkal also weighed in with the bat, making a half-century off 30 balls before being removed by Anrich Nortje.
Delhi’s bowlers took two each from Marsh, Nortje, and Chetan Sakariya.
Finally, Marsh and Warner put together the winning 143-run stand to help Delhi Capitals reach their target with eight wickets and 11 deliveries to spare.
Five boundaries and seven sixes from Marsh helped Delhi take the game away from Rajasthan, who had an early breakthrough in the form of Srikar Bharat, who was dismissed for a two-ball duck in the first over of Delhi’s chase.
A half-century from Warner was also undefeated on 52 from 41 balls.
DC maintained their playoff hopes with the victory, moving them up to the fifth place. They have a total of 12 points from their three games thus far.
With 14 points from their first 12 games of the IPL 2022 season, the Royals are still in third place.
