In a recent interview, former Pakistani pacer Mohammad Amir selected the hardest batsman against him.
Mohammad Amir, a former Pakistan fast-bowler, opened his rivalry with Indian skipper Virat Kohli and chose the “hardest batsman” to whom he has bowled. Amir, speaking on Cricwick’s YouTube, praised Kohli and lauded his willingness to reveal himself in pressures. The Pakistani pacer also said he feels that bowling against Kohli is easier for Rohit Sharma. But when choosing the hardest batsman, Amir chose Australia star cricketer Steve Smith.
“Steve Smith is the hardest batman in this period, since his technique is very different. His position makes it difficult to bowl against him, he is good at leaving the ball out and is solid off his pads,” Amir said.,” Amir said.
The 29-year-old pacer praised Kohli and said that he proved himself in all sizes of the game.
“Kohli has shown why he is revered as King Kohli in all formats. He loves to enjoy pressure, and I love to bowle to him,” Amir added.
Speaking about bowling with Rohit and Kohli, Amir did not care about bowling with either of the two Indian batmen but he noted that bowling with Virat was a little tough as Rohit struggled with the move early in his innings.
“I never found it difficult for these two bowls (Kohli and Rohit). I find it easy to bowl Rohit, I believe I can get both variations out of him. He struggles a little from left-armed bowlers, and even as the ball leaves him, it is difficult to handle it early in his innings.
“Bowling to Virat is a little difficult because he manages pressure well. He plays well in pressure games,” concluded Amir.
