Rohit Sharma, India’s new ODI, and T20I captain spent time with the country’s upcoming U19 cricketers at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru on Monday. The opening batsman, who is recovering from a hamstring injury at the NCA, spoke to India’s youth cricketers, who are at the academy for a pre-tournament training camp. Rohit was forced to withdraw from the South African Test series due to a hamstring issue. India A player Priyank Panchal, who was already in South Africa, was called up to replace him as a member of the squad.

The Indian red-ball side, led by Virat Kohli, is in Johannesburg, South Africa, for a three-match Test series against the Proteas.
The Test series between India and South Africa will begin on December 26.
