One of the most remarkable comebacks in bilateral cricket’s longest format will be India’s triumph in the 2020-21 Test Series against Australia. After a devastating 36-run defeat in the first Test in Adelaide, the Indian team faced an immense and daunting assignment. In many respects, it was as difficult as the task faced by Sourav Ganguly’s squad in 2001.

India eventually triumphed 2-1 in the second Test series in Australia, thanks to the skill of a youthful team.

Off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was one of the team’s more experienced players and was instrumental in their victory.

For a web series on Voot called ‘Bandon Mein Tha Dum,’ Ashwin was one of a group of participants that spoke about that historic series before the premiere.

He recounted a frightening journey from Melbourne to Sydney that got caught in a rainstorm while speaking to the media.

“When we were going to Sydney, the plane was hit by a storm. That part of the flight was so terrifying that I honestly believed we wouldn’t make it “Ashwin reminisced during the premiere of the series’ teaser.

At the time, Ashwin had also tweeted about the flight.

To go along with Hanuma Vihari, who was undefeated on the final day to earn a draw for India, the off-spinner took India’s second most wickets in the series. He also played an important role in helping India rescue the Sydney Test by battling an injury to be unbeaten on the final day.
