Prior to the first Test against South Africa, Zaheer Khan endorsed India's pacers.

Zaheer Khan endorsed Jasprit Bumrah and lauded the rest of India’s pacemen ahead of the first Test against South Africa.

Before India’s first Test against South Africa in Centurion on December 26, Zaheer Khan described Jasprit Bumrah as “really world-class.” He added Bumrah’s “pace and cunning” have “caused problems for the opposition batter” when discussing India’s top-notch pace attack that has helped Virat Kohli’s team to recent victories in Australia and England. According to Zaheer, “We have Jasprit Bumrah, who is absolutely world-class and has caused issues for hitters with his pace and guile.”

Bumrah made his Test debut on the last South African tour in 2018, three years prior.

“They have the ability to take 20 wickets in a Test match with ease. They’ve been touring the world and putting in regular work. This is a well-rounded assault. The nicest thing about the fast-bowling pack is that there is a lot of diversity “Then, he said.

Ishant Sharna and Mohammed Shami, two of India’s most seasoned players, were also singled out for appreciation by the World Cup champion. It is his opinion that Ishant’s ability to get more bounce out of odd lengths will be advantageous to Indian cricket. Shami’s seam position, he said, was a major asset.

A tall bowler like Ishant Sharma can add extra bounce from odd lengths, while someone like Mohammed Shami, with his prominent seam location, can move the ball both ways off the pitch, he said.

“Shardul Thakur, Umesh Yadav, and Mohammed Siraj have my full support as well,” he stated “Shardul Thakur, Umesh Yadav, and Mohammed Siraj make up an amazing backup battery. Overall, our strategy is sound, and we have no reason to doubt that they will be successful.”

“Only a left-arm quick is missing, but I doubt there is much you can do about it. The advantage of having a left-arm is undeniable, but India must continue to wait.”

Due to an increase in COVID-19 instances, the upcoming South African trip will be conducted behind closed doors.
