The IPL 2022 playoffs have begun, with Gujarat Titans, Rajasthan Royals, Lucknow Super Giants, and Royal Challengers Bangalore vying for a place in the final. Qualification 1 pits the Titans against the Kings, while the Eliminator pits The Super Giants against The Royal Challengers.
India opener Virender Sehwag has remarked that at the outset of the competition, he couldn’t even have foreseen this play-off lineup. That’s how confident he was in his prediction that these four clubs would all be in the playoffs.
“If someone had told me Gujarat Titans, Rajasthan Royals, Lucknow Super Giants, and Royal Challengers Bangalore would make the playoffs, I would have laughed in their face.
“This became apparent to us, I believe, after watching a few games amongst these four groups. Eventually, we came to believe that they had a chance as well. I’m not sure if I could have predicted this lineup. I had no intention of picking either Rajasthan or Bangalore, but I may have picked one of the two new teams.
The best four clubs in this season’s playoffs are “surprised for sure,” Sehwag said on Live.
In the event that Rajasthan Royals fail to win the IPL, a new champion will be crowned.
