New Zealand expects Trent Boult to be unavailable for the upcoming England Test matches

His application for family leave has been granted, and he will arrive in the UK on Friday

They hope to keep Boult fresh for the upcoming World Test Championship final, in which they’ll face India.

In order to be fresh and ready for the inaugural World Test Championship final, New Zealand hopes Trent Boult will miss the upcoming Test series against England. Due to the outbreak of the coronavirus in India earlier in May, the left-arm seamer has been granted time off to spend with his family in New Zealand and has been ruled out of the first Test at Lord’s.

But Boult is expected to arrive in the UK on Friday, and so priority will be given to having him ready to play the World Test Championship final against India at Southampton on June 18.

New Zealand coach Gary Stead recently commented, “I don’t think you’ll see Trent in the two-Test matches that New Zealand is involved in.”

Trent is training hard to be ready for the World Test Championship final.

To sum up, he added, “He has been home, and he has had a week of bowling, which has been very helpful following the fair amount of isolation he experienced at the end of the IPL.”

But in regards to Trent, we believe it is extremely unlikely that he will be playing the Edgbaston Test. For the one-off Test, he is more likely to be available.
