RCB finished fourth to qualify for the IPL 2022 playoffs.

Faf du Plessis’s RCB side made it to the IPL 2022 playoffs by a whisker, and now, Irfan Pathan believes that other teams should be on their guard.

Irfan Pathan, a former Indian cricketer, predicts that in the IPL 2022 playoffs, all three teams above Royal Challengers Bangalore will be scared of the Faf du Plessis-led club. After Mumbai Indians upset Delhi Capitals in their final league game, RCB made the Playoffs by a squeaker in the most entertaining IPL season yet. Though they required a little luck to get there, the experts feel RCB can beat any club if they play their game.

Pathan believes that RCB’s recent performance in the league stages makes them a dangerous squad, and other teams can’t afford to take them for granted.

Irfan Pathan, speaking on Cricket Live on Star Sports, said: “In the TATA IPL, RCB are playing in their third straight Eliminator game. But the rest of the teams will be afraid of them now that they know what they’re capable of. They are coming on the tail of an impressive win in their previous game and Virat Kohli seems to have found his form which is the biggest plus.”

“I think he’s rediscovered his muse. While the rest of the squad’s hitters are also chipping in with vital contributions, his match-winning half-century (in their final league game against Gujarat Titans) would augur well for the team. RCB is a force to be reckoned with, and no team can take them for granted. RCB will be a threat to the three clubs above them, “he went on to say.

Former England cricketer Graeme Swann also believes that the Faf du Plessis-led side might easily blank the rest after getting into the playoffs.

According to Graeme Swann, “I have this sense that Royal Challengers Bangalore may surprise everyone by somehow slipping in through the back door.”
