IPL 2021
IPL 2021's final two games will be held back-to-back.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced on Tuesday that the final two games of the IPL 2021 league phase will be played simultaneously.

Following Tuesday’s announcement by BCCI, the final two games of the current IPL 2021 league phase will be played at the exact same time. This is the first time in IPL history that the final day of the group phase will feature multiple matches taking place at the same time. SunRisers Hyderabad had been scheduled to play Mumbai Indians in a day game at 3:30 PM IST, while Royal Challengers Bangalore had been scheduled to play Delhi Capitals at 7:30 PM IST, according to the previous schedule. In the evening, at 7:30 PM IST, both games will now be played.

The BCCI announced in a press release that the final two league games before the VIVO IPL 2021 Playoffs would be played simultaneously, a first for the IPL.

Two matches (SRH vs MI and RCB v DC) will be played simultaneously at 7.30 PM IST (6.00 PM GST) on the final day of the league stage (08.10.2021) of the current season, instead of a one-afternoon match and one evening match.

As of right now, no team has clinched a spot in the play-offs, making this tournament critical. Due to their loss to Kolkata Knight Riders in Sharjah on Tuesday, Delhi Capitals will have to wait until the next round of play-offs to make the playoffs for the first time.

With a win over SunRisers Hyderabad, the MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings will be assured of a spot in the play-offs.

The media rights tender for the Indian Premier League’s 2023-2027 cycle was also announced by the BCCI.

In a press release, the BCCI stated that the IPL Media Rights Tender will be released on October 25th, 2021, following the appointment of two new IPL teams.
