Veteran spinner Yuzvendra Chahal gave a dressing room tour in a video that BCCI tweeted the day before the second ODI.
After a 12-run win in the first ODI, India now leads the three-game series against New Zealand. After Shubman Gill stepped up to the plate and smashed his first ODI double-century, the home team scored 349 runs in 50 overs. Eventually, New Zealand was bowled out for 337, with Mohammed Siraj taking 4-for. The Rohit Sharma-led side has arrived in Raipur for the second one-day international, which will be contested at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium.
BCCI tweeted a video of experienced spinner Yuzvendra Chahal giving a dressing room tour the day before the second one-day international. An amusing remark made by captain Rohit Sharma about Chahal’s “future” in the video, though, caught everyone’s attention.
Chahal displayed a massage table and instructed spectators, “It’s our very own massage table, yes indeed. If you’ve tried everything else and still can’t get any relief from your back pain, this is the solution you’ve been looking for. Here we have our massage table. The table is used to administer treatment to patients in need of back pain relief or other types of care.”
Rohit popped up out of nowhere and remarked, “Acha future hai term.” (Your future is bright.) The comment from the Indian captain caused the 32-year-old spinner to burst out laughing.
Chahal took one wicket in his solitary appearance in the first one-day international of a three-game series against Sri Lanka. Against New Zealand, he was also not included in the starting lineup for the opening One-Day International.
