Anderson has hinted at his future plans by stating that he would like the opportunity to bowl against Virat Kohli once more.

James Anderson claimed five wickets in the first innings and one in the second innings of the fifth rescheduled Test between India and England earlier this month at Edgbaston. Virat Kohli, the former captain of the Indian cricket team, was not among them. It’s a mouthwatering matchup between two of cricket’s greatest players. In seven Tests, Anderson has gotten rid of Kohli.

It’s a pity that Anderson, the third-best wicket-taker in Test cricket history, is just two days away from his 40th birthday. Many people are wondering when the venerable paceman will hang up his cleats. Others questioned whether or not India-postponed England’s Test was the world’s last chance to see Kohli vs Anderson battle it out. Now, Anderson has given us a taste of what he plans to do in the future.

“I’m not sure, to be honest. To bowl against Virat again would be a great experience. So, perhaps I’ll stay for the upcoming tour? “Extraaa Innings” host Anderson made the comments during a segment on Sony Sports Network.

ESPNcricinfo reports that India will face England in two-Test series, one at home in early 2024 and the other on the road in 2025. If that claim is accurate, Anderson’s career could extend past the end of the current season. This has yet to be confirmed by anyone in authority.

Prior to the rescheduled Test, former Indian cricket team bowler Zaheer Khan had stated that the rematch between Anderson and Kohli will be their final Test match.

“Seeing this combat over and over will make it more enjoyable for you. In a competition, it’s exciting when the players’ statistics are nearly identical. It may be the last time you see this competition. Because Anderson isn’t playing consistently, he’ll have to give up this game at some point in the future. Maybe it’s just a matter of time before we reach that stage. It’s possible that this is the only time you’ll see this match because the next time India and England meet in England will be a long time apart after this series. There will be a lot of action this time around “Zaheer Khan previously stated on Cricbuzz in a conversation.
