Indian Premier League
It was Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli's RCB match against PBKS in the Indian Premier League in 2022:

RCC’s fifth-highest score in IPL history was followed by their fourth loss in a row, as they had only previously managed to defend this total once before.

The IPL 2022 season got off to a bad start for Royal Challengers Bangalore when they were unable to hold on to a 200-plus run goal against Punjab Kings. Even though new RCB captain Faf du Plessis made an impressive score of 88, Punjab’s powerful hitters easily reached the mark and ensured victory for their side in the Indian Premier League.

RCB has failed to defend a total of 205 in the Indian Premier League (IPL) three times in the past.

For the fifth time in IPL history, RCB’s total of 205 was surpassed, but their loss was their fourth as they had only been able to defend this mark once before.

This is a dismal record, and du Plessis is well aware of the magnitude of the challenge ahead. RCB’s weak bowling has been a major factor in their inability to win the IPL even once.

A number of new players have joined the squad, but the bowling unit has again shown its inexperience, as premier paceman Mohammed Siraj went for a tonne in the team’s opening encounter.

This was a disappointing performance even for the likes of Harshal Patel and Wanindu Hasaranga.
