Andrew McDonald, the temporary coach of Australia’s T20 World Cup defense team, praised the IPL and said the upcoming edition will help his players prepare for the upcoming home tournament.

Australia will play a full series in Pakistan for the first time in 24 years, starting with three Tests in Rawalpindi on March 4, followed by three one-day internationals and a T20 International.
As it turns out, McDonald’s remarks come just a day after it was reported that Australia’s top players such as David Warner, Josh Hazelwood, and Pat Cummins will be missing the start of the IPL due to their decision to skip the limited-overs series against Pakistan, which is scheduled to coincide with the lucrative T20 league.
Test team members Warner, Hazelwood, and Cummins have been included, but they will miss the limited-overs assignment, which begins March 29.
This year’s Indian Premier League is expected to begin in the latter week of March, but exact dates have not yet been released.
McDonald believes that the emergence of the IPL has expedited cricket and elevated it to an entirely new level. Of course, there are many advantages to participating in the IPL, but playing at that level means that you’re exposed to a wide range of situations and conversations that go place within the league and among its franchises.
“2008 was almost the point when the game accelerated and it was played differently,” I’ve said before, and I stand by that.
“That was achieved, in my opinion, largely as a result of the mingling of cultures, players, and coaches from various countries. And the game progressed as a result. Since then, we’ve seen an amazing new product.
