For the second time this season, the club violated the IPL’s Code of Conduct, this time for a violation of the minimum over-rate rule. For his actions, Lucknow Super Giants captain and all-rounder KL Rahul was fined a whopping Rs 24 lakh, while his teammates were each assessed either Rs 6 lakh or 25% of their match fees.

During their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 encounter against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on April 24, Lucknow Super Giants were penalized for a slow over-rate, an official release claimed.

On Sunday, Lucknow Super Giants beat Mumbai Indians by 36 runs to move up to fourth in the IPL points table.

KC has 10 points after 8 games under KL Rahul’s leadership, while Mumbai Indians are winless after eight games and are at the bottom of the Indian Premier League table.

During the encounter between these two teams, Lucknow Super Giants posted 168/6 in 20 overs, thanks to Rahul’s unbeaten 103 off just 62 balls.

Rahul’s innings featured 12 fours and four sixes.

Mumbai Indians (132/8) fell 36 runs short of their target of 169 as they were held to a score of 132. No other batsman was able to stay at the crease for the whole of the game, despite the solid efforts of Rohit Sharma and Tilak Varma.

Mohsin Khan, Jason Holder, Ravi Bishnoi, and Ayush Badoni all grabbed one wicket each for Lucknow Super Giants.
