Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s father has been struggling with liver cancer for the last 8 months and died Thursday at his home in Meerut.
India pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s father, Kiran Pal Singh, died in his Meerut residence for the last eight months, after fighting liver cancer. He was 63 and has survived Indresh Devi’s wife and Bhuvneshwar and Rekha’s son and daughter respectively. In September of last year when Bhuvneshwar played for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the UAE for the IPL, Singh was diagnosed with illness for the first time, according to ESPNCricinfo. “Bhuvneshwar’s return from the IPL in UAE, where he represented the Sunrisers Hyderabad, has been understood to be mainly due to the condition of his father,” the report said.
After consulting physicians in the UK, Singh was receiving care including chemotherapy at the All Institute of Medical Science in New Delhi.
He was hospitalized two weeks after his condition worsened in a private facility in Meerut.
“Kiran Pal Singh was released on Tuesday, but he succumbed two days later,” said the article.
Singh was a former sub-inspector in the police department of Uttar Pradesh.
