In preparation for the World Cup, Gambhir suggested that Indian cricketers skip the IPL if at all possible and focus instead on 50-over games.

Former India opener Gautam Gambhir predicts that the ODI World Cup, which will be hosted by the country later this year, would be a huge success because of the contributions of veteran spinners like captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Gambhir has stated that India needs to find fearless individuals and have a variety of cricketers for the 50-over format. “First, you’ve got to zero in on the guys that have that fearless attitude, and in a game like 50 overs, you definitely need a variety of players. Players who can serve as inning anchors exist. According to an interview on the Star Sports program “Road to World Cup Glory,” Gambhir said that a change in his role had also made a significant impact on his performance.

“I think guys who can anchor their innings, who probably can play spin really effectively, like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and all those guys will play a huge role in the upcoming World Cup.” The former cricketer-turned-politician claimed that the use of two balls bowled from opposite ends has altered the format of one-day internationals.

At the time, there was just one brand-new ball in play; today, there are two brand-new balls and five infielders. Therefore, the concept of a part-time worker is obsolete. For example, “you don’t see enough of the chase for the finger spinners, and you don’t see enough of the reverse swings anymore,” Gambhir lamented.

“But, in my opinion, when we discuss this new approach, which India constantly discusses, the template and whatnot, you’ve got to pick individuals who can adapt those roles or that template very readily.” Gambhir has stated that India needs to remain with a bunch of players and try them in matches if they want to do well at the ODI World Cup on home soil.

People who play more than three formats can rest from ODIs, but not Twenty20 cricket. They shared a fun opportunity to play together.

The lack of practice time for this team to gel is the biggest failure of Indian cricket in the last two World Cups, in my opinion. To what extent have we been able to field our strongest eleven on the field? Only at the World Cup did we decide to play our best eleven, but alas, it was never our finest eleven.

In preparation for the World Cup, Gambhir suggested that Indian cricketers skip the IPL if at all possible and focus instead on 50-over games.

Whether or not they want to take a break from the T20 or the IPL, these men have to play enough white-ball cricket, especially for the 50 overs World Cup together. However, it can’t be the 50-over format but rather the T20 one.

If the franchisee has to suffer, then the franchisee must suffer. In India, the IPL is not the most important thing. Basically, IPL is only a by-product. He continued, “So if India goes out and wins the World Cup, that is the greater ovation, that is the bigger ring.

Since the IPL is held annually while the World Cup is held every four years, it is understandable that a star player may choose to skip the former. Therefore, in my opinion, bringing home the World Cup trophy is much more satisfying than taking home the IPL trophy.
