India vs. South Africa: On Tuesday, Rishabh Pant turned 25. Wasim Jaffer sent the dashing wicketkeeper-batter a humorous birthday message.

On Tuesday, Rishabh Pant, the star wicketkeeper-batsman for India, turned 25. Wasim Jaffer sent him a meme in the most classic way possible. The three-frame meme features India captain Rohit Sharma wishing Pant a happy birthday and asking him what he wants for a birthday present. The response is “Batting” in the second frame, and Rohit has a bizarre look in the third. The tweet quickly gained popularity since Pant, although being on the playing XI, was not given the opportunity to bat in the two T20Is against South Africa.

Dinesh Karthik will likely start over Pant in the T20 World Cup, which begins later this month, but Pant has played in the South Africa series in place of the rested Hardik Pandya.

Instead of waiting for their turn to bat, India chased down a modest mark in the opening game, with KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav bringing the hosts home.

The top order once again batted out most of the overs in the second T20I, which was a run-fest. When the third wicket went, it was the final two overs, and Dinesh Karthik was brought in as the designated finisher.

To make up for it, India is reportedly preparing to rest Virat Kohli and KL Rahul for the third T20I, which would be played on Pant’s birthday in Indore.

The team management has frequently used Pant as the opener in this format; if Rahul is out, Pant might go up the order.
