India and New Zealand are competing against one another in a white-ball series after both teams’ semi-final matches at the T20 World Cup 2022 ended in defeat. The first Twenty20 International between the nations was called off in Wellington on Friday owing to weather, and cricket fans all over the world were left devastated. Team India, captained by Hardik Pandya, features a deep roster that also includes Shreyas Iyer, Ishan Kishan, and Sanju Samson. At the Sky Stadium, the players of both sides were involved in a fun activity while the rain put a halt to the match.

The BCCI tweeted a video of Indian and New Zealand cricketers playing footvolley inside the stadium. There were a number of players involved in the game, including Sanju Samson, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Ish Sodhi.

After the first three One-Day Internationals (ODI), India will play two more T20Is as part of their tour of New Zealand.

Both squads had flown in after being eliminated from the T20 World Cup semifinals in Australia. New Zealand fell to Pakistan, while India went down to eventual winners England.

Leading the Indian Twenty20 squad in the absence of regular captain Rohit Sharma is star all-rounder, Hardik Pandya, with wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant as his deputy.

Other than Rohit, star batters Virat Kohli and opener KL Rahul has also been given rests throughout the tour.

In a couple of days, on Sunday, you may catch the next Twenty20 in Mount Maunganui.
